Family Fun on 
First Saturdays!

Join us this fall on the first Saturday of each month for special family programming in our native plant gardens.  These days are perfect for families and include engaging experiences for kids and parents to enjoy together. 

Bring the kids and learn about gardening and nature in a fun hand's-on activity. Make a craft, enjoy a snack and take home your very own native plant. All activities are included with admission.

September 6th - Bugs and Butterflies
October 2nd - Art in the Garden
November 1 - Fall Finale

Hardy Plant Society Fall Gardeners' Market
August 23, 8am-2pm

This is a great opportunity to select new plants for your garden! Offerings include rare trees, conifers, and shrubs, natives, perennials, ferns, sun or shade garden plants and wildflowers, and specialty plants. There will also be non-nursery vendors selling garden art and special accessories. If you would like to be a vendor, contact Sharon Anderson at waysandmeans@hardyplant.org or 610-328-0892.

2014 GCFP District I Annual Luncheon


Dedication of the Final Two Blue Star Memorial Markers 17 Jun 2014

The final two blue star memorial markers on the Pennsylvania Turnpike were dedicated June 17, 2014 at Highspire Service Plaza.. When the final marker is installed at the Peter J. Camiel Service Plaza in the near future every plaza will have a marker and the PA TPK will be a Blue Star Highway!

Jenny Rose Carey

Jenny Rose Carey, "The Gardens at Stenton in Germantown". Jenny Rose Carey has been the Director of the Ambler Arboretum of Temple University since 2005. Born in London to a family of botanists and gardeners Jenny brings a wealth of practical experience to her job. She was educated at the Universities of Southampton and Oxford in England and has a degree in Horticulture from Temple University.
Jenny lectures across the world on topics ranging from sustainable gardening to the history of women in Horticulture and Landscape Design. She has co-authored the book to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Ambler campus and is writing a book about the early 20th century gardens of Philadelphia.
